With a view to support, by the countries – member states of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) the candidature of Astana city for holding the next session of General Assembly of UNWTO in Astana in 2009 and to support the candidature of the Republic of Kazakhstan for membership in UNWTO executive Council for the period 2007-2011, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan provided the organization of the official visit of the Director of Conference department of UNWTO, Dominique Bernardet to Astana and Almaty cities in September 2007.
