International Tourist Fair FITUR 2008 was held in Madrid city, in which Kazakhstan took part during the period of 30 January to 3 February.
International Tourist Fair is the second popular fair in the world, in which more than 59 millions of people participated in 2007. The exhibition takes place annually in the exhibition complex Feria de Madrid. More than 13,300 companies and official persons from 170 countries took part at the area of 100,000 sq.m. this year. The exhibition was visited by 250,000 visitors, among them 150,000 – professionals of tourist industry. Kazakhstan stand made up 50 sq.m. Kazakhstan delegation was headed by the Minister of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also was represented by the representatives of the Department of industry and entrepreneurship of Almaty city, tourist companies, State Natural National Park «Altyn-Emel».
There were distributed more than 5000 printed and electronic advertising production about tourist potential of Kazakhstan during the exhibition.
There were held negotiations with the representatives of World Tourist Organization, TV companies and publishing representatives, during which there was reached an agreement about cooperation, including Kazakhstan visiting by foreign tourists.
Moreover there were given the interview to foreign representatives of mass media.
Also the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kingdom of Spain Danenov N.Zh visited Kazakhstan stand. As a whole Kazakhstan participation in International Tourist Fair (FITUR– 2008) provoked great interest at foreign tourist companies.
